Artist Statement

I create art because I am drawn to the beauty of imperfection—the way time, weather, and nature shape surfaces into something uniquely textured and full of history. There’s something deeply personal about working with materials that already carry a story, then transforming them into something new yet familiar.

My goal is to craft pieces that bring a sense of connection and wonder, whether through the movement of fluid shapes, the contrast of graphic elements, or the quiet depth of weathered textures. I want my work to invite curiosity, to make people pause and feel something—whether it’s nostalgia, inspiration, or simply a moment of stillness.

I’m influenced by the world around me—by the way typography fades on old signs, how paint peels over time, how the natural world reclaims what’s left behind. My process is intuitive, often guided by the materials themselves. I layer, distress, and refine, allowing each piece to develop its own primitive identity.

At the heart of my work is a love for craftsmanship and a desire to share that with others. I believe in the value of creating with intention and the joy that comes from making something by hand. My vision is not just to make art but to inspire others to see beauty in the imperfect, to embrace the creative process, and to appreciate the stories that materials can tell.

In a larger context, my work is about connection—between past and present, between the art and the viewer, and between creativity and everyday life. If my work can bring someone joy, spark inspiration, or remind them to slow down and notice the details, then I’ve done what I set out to do.
